Whether Marceline is eventually added to MultiVersus remains to be seen, but with or without Huynh's tweet about the vampire's outfits, it wouldn't be a huge surprise. It just goes to show that there could be a default Marceline skin and an alternate one as well. But, for example, Jake has two different Cake skins with the default Cake and Calico Cake variant. It's hard to imagine who she'd be a skin for. Marceline could be added as an alternate character skin, of course.
It seems odd he'd stir up the MultiVersus fanbase just for fun, though. Of course, Huynh may just be settling a bet he had with another developer, asking a hypothetical question with no actual intent to add Marceline to the game. He's asking about a default skin choice, which would mean Marceline would be a playable fighter. While Huynh may be trying to avoid the appearance of announcing a new fighter for MultiVersus, it's difficult to read his tweet as anything less. He followed that up with a suspicious, "100% not saying anything, but just curious." The poll options Huynh provided were for Marceline's gray shirt and her red shirt. In a post on Twitter, Huynh asked his follower a question regarding what Marceline's default outfit should be. It's perhaps not a major surprise then to see MultiVersus game director Tony Huynh teasing the possibility of Marceline joining the game's roster. There's also an Adventure Time Tree Fort stage, multiple Adventure Time announcer packs, ringouts, stickers, icons, banners, and more. Fern, a Finn skin, is similarly voiced by the correct voice actor. For example, there are Cake skins for Jake that have Cake's voice acting.
While Finn and Jake may be the only full characters released in MultiVersus, developer Player First Games has added plenty of Adventure Time content otherwise, as well. Marceline isn't the only Adventure Time character deserving of a chance, but she might be the most popular. Now that MultiVersus has been available for some time, it wouldn't be surprising if Adventure Time was returned to for even more characters. Adventure Time has been a prominent brand in MultiVersus, with both Finn and Jake appearing as fighters when the game launched. Marceline of Adventure Time is being hinted at as a possible addition to MultiVersus' roster.
